Barney
Official Sitemap Gopher

Barney is a gopher who lives in the lawn in front of our building. He digs tunnels under the grass and munches on the roots of plants. When he moved in a few months ago, we were dismayed. So we tried to kill him. A few times. (We know this may surprise you, since we are do-gooders by nature, but the building in which we work was given to us by a donor several years ago, and we take our stewardship role very seriously.) Our efforts to eliminate Barney were unsuccessful, and we decided to change our strategy: We thought, why not enlist him to help us help you? We offered Barney the job of website navigator. He's a natural at digging. He's persistent as can be. And, he's easy on the eyes. Barney is a 2004 graduate of Vintage High School’s student garden plot, and he holds an associate’s degree in soil management from Napa Valley College.
