Our donors are generous people who want to make a difference. Some already know the organizations they want to support, and some don’t. In either case, our goals are the same. We strive to:

• Make giving easy, effective and enduring
• Support the agenda of our donors
• Get leverage, wherever possible, to stretch donors’ resources

We do this by consistently investing in three things. First, knowledge about specific nonprofits and the overall charitable sector in Napa County. This comes from research, site visits, due diligence on grants and frequent meetings in the community—all conducted by our professional staff. Second, relationships with other funders, including Community Foundation donors, local family foundations, and regional/national foundations. This allows us to create "funding syndicates"— opportunities for these various donor groups to collectively support community projects for which they share passion. Third, technology. This enables us to process and fulfill thousands of gift and grant transactions per year with one balance sheet, one tax return, one annual audit, one investment policy, one Board of Directors and one staff.
