NVCF Awards More Than $500,000 in Scholarships

The future of Napa Valley’s students just got a little brighter. We are excited to announce $505,000 in scholarship awards to support local students in pursuing their educational goals this year.

A total of 64 scholarships have been distributed to 57 deserving students, with 67% identifying as First-Generation College Students, meaning neither parent has obtained a Bachelor’s Degree. This year’s scholarships reflect NVCF’s ongoing commitment to supporting educational equity and accessibility.

By the Numbers:

  • 64 awards totaling more than $500,000
  • 41% of scholarships awarded to students attending community colleges
  • 60% of recipients speak a language other than English at home.

NVCF’s scholarship recipients are excited to attend a diverse array of postsecondary institutions across California. From Napa Valley College and other community colleges to University of California campuses at UCLA, Berkeley, Davis, Santa Cruz, and Merced; California State Universities such as CSU Long Beach, CSU Monterey Bay, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Sonoma State, San Jose State, and Chico State; and vocational and technical schools, and private institutions like Carrington College, St. Mary’s College, and the University of San Francisco.

“We are incredibly proud of our scholarship recipients this year,” said Lupe Reyes, Director of Grants and Scholarships for NVCF. “Their dedication to learning and perseverance through challenges are truly inspiring. These scholarships are a testament to the generosity of our community and our shared belief in the power of education.”

NVCF’s 16 scholarship funds support students studying for degrees and certificates in fields such as nursing, respiratory therapy, electrical engineering, computer science, music, viticulture, and enology. Additional scholarships are helping local high school students participate in study abroad programs, and some are dedicated to veterans or their families, as well as those committed to careers in education. Several scholarships provide opportunities for vineyard or winery workers and their families to further their education and advance their careers.
